Well I arrived at Bolton snooker club at around 7:20pm for their knockout competition, the turnout was pretty good, around 24 or 26 I think. There had to be some prelim games before the 1st round proper and I had not only been drawn last but also had my handicap docked for reaching the final last time, now I was off -15!
2 and a half hours later at about 9:45 it was my turn, giving 30 start to dwayne who I beat in the Q/F last time, things were about to not go my way!
After an initial bout of safety which i was winning, and managed to open up the reds all round the pink and black spots he let me in, only for me to find there was no red on, then again he smashed into them and left me nowt, and again, I was beginning to feel like it was not my day, than a chance, and a good one only for me to leave too much angle on the black and miss it.
I was potting well only for the positional side of things to just slip past each time where i wanted it and I scored very lightly, dwayne kept knocking single reds in from long distance which was frustrating after good safety shots. Then my safety shots or attempted snookers just kept sneaking out behind balls, it was not going to be my night, I was always trailing by 20-30, just not able to get into the frame when eventually needing a snooker on the green and a clearance to win, I tried to thin the green in behind the brown and send the white up round the black end of the table only to miss the green altogether....that was the end of this weeks effort, lol and a 30 min drive home
