Last night with not a lot to do I decided to venture down to Bolton Snooker Club to enter their individual 1 frame knockout competition, £5 entry with £100 for the winner. About 20 or so players turned up and paid their money. I managed to make it to the final albeit with a little luck along the way, but you need luck when you have to give a start, I won 4 matches on the way to the final giving 35, 40, 25 and 15 starts.....after deciding to split the £100 prize money the final was played out and I lost on the pink after giving 35 start to a real bandit, lol...he never missed, but not bad £50 wages for a night out playing snooker, great fun was had and I will go again....wonder if my -5 handicap will be

Well here it is today a re-arranged fixture to finish off the 2010/11 bolton snooker league, I currently have the highest break in section B of 81 and I have been searching for a chance to make a hundred break for the past few weeks, without success!...maybe tonight will present me with the chance, who knows? Bradshaw Conservative club are our opponents so I am off for a practice session today to get ready.
Well I predicted 18-14 to john Higgins and was nearly bang on as the scottish genius ran out a triumphant 18-15 winner. I am thinking one blue ball attempted pot was a major factor in Judd Trump losing this final, maybe next time he will play a different shot but nobody can deny he has been a major triumph for snooker, playing in his cavalier style but with great skill. We can't all play like this but WOW how we wish we could!
World Snooker final today between John Higgins and the young Judd Trump, trump's flair and potting ability have really come to the fore in this competition and he has gained many new fans, however I think he will have his work cut out today and tomorrow if he is to get past the 'lump of granite' known as John Higgins, this guy really can play, there is no player with more bottle and I think it will inevitably come down to bottle, my prediction is 18-14 to higgins.
